ABA in Scotland - particularly funding - share experiences?

There have been a number of ABA-based threads recently and it seems fairly clear to me that the funding position for ABA in Scotland is patchy (at best) to non-existant (at worst).

We are currently exploring ABA for our DS (communication disorder rather than ASD, but enough ASD traits to make ABA worthwhile, we think). We feel very on our own in looking at ABA (apart from the lovely people on this board of course!) and my sense is that any funding application will be laughed at. However, to be scrupulously fair, as my DS is so 'mild' perhaps that's not the regular approach...

So the point of this thread is, if you're in Scotland:
Have you had support from HCP in accessing ABA or been met with blank stares?
Have you been able to secure funding?
If so, how did you do it?

I am in Scotland and have been running a small ABA program for about 2.5 years now - funded by DLA and our own money. The realistic answer is that there is no means of getting LEA funding for ABA (or any form of home education) in Scotland. There is only one example ever of someone securing funding for ABA in Scotland but that followed a very long battle ending in a high court judgement and there were some factors in that case that you would probably not be able to replicate.

Willow so am I right in saying you take your DLA and use that to fund some of your ABA? We aren't claiming DLA because I think my DS wouldn't qualify - but if it could go towards funding aBA it may be worth a try?
