Ds1 went on another meltdown today and he hit me with a heavy wooden stool if i had'nt ov moved my leg up it would have hit me full in the face, and when i looked into his eyes there was this total emptyness, there was ..... oh im sorry icant even describe it, ( damien out of the omen look/) its so totally shook me up and i really dont know what to do now, ( DS1 is 13 with possability of PDA)

Oh God poor you! I have 2 with autism and I totally understand what you mean by that empty look. Can you ring his doctor tomorrow? Could you try to talk to him when he's calmed down? I don't want to bombard you with questions - they're meant as suggestions. I know how hard it is - although this hasn't happened to me yet there's a lot of aggression between my children, but you are his mother and you should not be subjected to this. I realise hormones cause trouble but soon he'll be bigger than you, if he isn't already. I'm so sorry this is happening to you.

When DS was going through this the Ed Psych told us to phone the Police so they could impress on him that it is wrong. We didn't though because who wants to admit their lovely child is violent towards them. (She knew other parents who had.) We ended up putting DS on Risperidone.
Just wanted you to know you aren't the only one.
I agree with GKG about talking to him when he is calm. You already know there is no point when he is in meltdown.

I wonder if there are any anger management course for autistic children. Mine would benefit from it too. Your local specialist school or even the police might be able to help.

Thanks all, i was thinking about phoning the doctors in the morning, the police thing wouldnt work, for nothing does, plus we tried that over a differant issue, I am still waiting on an apolagy off him and tried talking to him hours later and he said to me that " i dont want to mum, i can keep telling meself no but i just end up doing it"
