Lovely story Seven highlighting the realities of caring. However I had to laugh at SamCam doing nails and banging on about how important it is for parents to have a break when her husband D
aveCam is busy cutting the DLA etc!

Thanks for that Seven. It was a lovely story for once! :)

Thank you for that link Seven. I was in tears reading it as there are so many similarities with our daughter. Only this week we have been trying to figure out what to buy and do for DD's 17th birthday next week and I have already been thinking ahead to how we might make her 18th birthday special.

Sadly as unpa1d says, the Dave's policies and cuts are only making life more difficult for families like ours. The 'head in the sand' attitude of adult services who have not made any provision for the most severely disabled young people surviving into adulthood is only making the situation worse.

yes an accurate story for once, so true about the system causing so much more stress than is necessary and a lovely family. Although being slightly cynical I wonder if this is after all the fallout from the shite they had last weekend about adhd.

Thanks seven, such a rare and honest article of what it is really like in our disabling society.
