tom has just taught ME something...all this time on MN i have thought LOL meant lots of love!!!

He said...NO...it means Laugh Out Loud...and i've just checked the acronym list...and he's right!!!

come on ...anyone else admit getting these abbvs wrong...now you know why i hardly use them!!!

i can just imagine that somewhere in the past i have replied LOL to someone's tradgedy cos i thought i was saying Lots Of LOve...

I had to e mail a friend ages ago and ask what DH meant!!! I was thinking of two words a lot worse than Darling Husband!!!

Anyway, who actually calls them Darling Husband? I think the two words I thought of fitted much better

yes...i'm still worrying about all the times I used LOL inappropriately!!!

still...people on this area are familiar with me...know i don't intentionally offend...and that i believe i have AS...so often have a very literal use/understanding of language...and probs with sarcasm....take things to heart/personally.....so at least on here i may be forgiven...

...however...i am very serious about the fact that i have deffinitely used LOL (thinking it meant LOTS OF LOVE)....and infact it meant LAUGH OUT LOUD.... on threads where someone was talink about something awful.

So....just proves how 'lethal' email/internet messages can be...like text messages...so easily misused....innocently...devastating .

so genuine apologies.... and i am NOT using acronyms EVER!!!

Mind you....also follows that when i thought people were being nioe to me (saying LOL)...that maybe they were laughing at me ....however...most of the time i do post the 'humourous' side of my life...so they are using it correctly.... i don't think anyone has ever put LOL when i have posted a 'sad' thread...

so though i like to believe i am NOT alone doing this.... i think i am!!!! ( that shows you i am seeing the funny side of this...despite my obsessive thoughts at the mo that i have upset millions with my ...what appeared to be...insensitive use of LOL!!!)

i know anniebear when I first saw it - I thought of the other dh and still do at times....

if no one else has commented then I would not worry MrsF.
