Can I share my good news with all you lovely SEN parents?

My ex SIL phoned her local radio station about a month ago and told them she wanted me nominated to carry the torch in the Olympics, and said lots of reasons why she thought i deserved this honour. (I did laugh, me carrying a big flaming torch- with my asthma but anyway) she won nomination of the day and as a reward got sent £200 worth of John Lewis/Waitrose vouchers which she shared with me (£100 each)!
So now I can shop in the very same shop Kate Middleton got papped in just after she married Will, which is my nearest wait rose. I can't normally afford to go there!
So that's the shopping sorted for the next couple of weeks...

What a lovely thing to happen!
What reasons did she give?

I don't think I really deserve the reasons she gave TBH, what I mean is we all just do our best don't we.
She mentioned that I'd always been there for her and everyone, despite my own hectic life, she mentioned the boys and that I did a degree and am now doing my teaching degree...stuff like that really. Don't know what else, she was so nervous she couldn't remember herself lol

I'm being persuaded here to perhaps invest in some new make up....could do with it at my age and i believe one of my daughters has run off with my mascara so I've been using this old one and now have a rotten eye infection had to prise them open this morning haha not a good look!

NO Ellen, you're right; especially here as everything has the 'royal seal of approval' I'm told by a friend of mine who ventured in to look around after Kates shopping trip! Don't think he bought anything!

Was going to pop in earlier on my travels til eldest DD rang me all humpty cos apparently I'd locked her out! She lost her door key ages ago and hasn't thought to replace it (my fault of course!!!)

I shall let you all know. I'llprobably be going round with a look of horror going "How Much?????" and end up back in Home bargains!!!

Well girls, an update; went to Waitrose last night. felt like Queen Posh from Poshville on national Posh day...Oooh look at me putting a LARGE jar of olives in me trolley not just a normal one cos I'm soooo rich...
Got to the till and nearly passed out; one hundred and fifty two bloody quid!!!!
Would've been half that in Home bargains!
anyway they were nice carrier bags and were still free (as of today 5p each) but they were like the local version of Harrods bags. Ex said ooh you can use them to pick up the dog poo in the garden, i said no chance, they're way too good for that, they do have the royal seal of approval dontcha know!

But £100 was kind of free for me and they give you these little tokens to choose one of 3 charities that they give £1,000 to at the end of the month so i put mine in the local young carers box.

Oh and the till lady called me Madam! I didn't know whether to thank her or smack her one!!! Is she being polite or is it cos i'm old!!!

Madam or Modom? One is old, one is posh glad you had fun, even if it did clear you out! I think Waitrose is cheaper than the therapy I would otherwise need!

every time I go I dress up like Audrey Hepburn and remind self that 'nothing bad ever happens in Waitrose'.

I probably would have embarrassed myself in asking for a sit down and the £150 lol!

I would wrap the kids lunch in the carrier bags LOL that should keep the gossips talking "do you know SHE buys her sausage rolls and dairylea triangles in waitrose?"

Well the funniest thing was Coffee, I went to make myself a nice salad the next day; thought 'Ooh yummy I have all those olives' so I made all the salad up, inc a nice bit of smoked salmon I also bought there, and guess what I couldn't get the sodding lid off the olives.
I tried banging it on the kitchen door handle, hammering it with a knife, tea towels wrapped round my hands...made a hole in the lid with a skewer (which of course scuppered my chances of returning it) but all to no avail.
Daughter came home, all 5 foot and fag paper and size 6 of her, I said 'here, try n open these bloody olives for me'
you guessed it, one turn and it was opened.
Of course I'd eaten the bloody salad by then!!!

I tell everyone now that Kate and I are almost related (being as we both shop in wait rose!!! makes us virtually sisters!)
