DISCO or ADI?

I have been offered the choice of these for ds4. I know that for ds3 we had the ADI which consisted of a two and a half hour interview.

Has anyone had a DISCO assessment? What does it consist of?

The Paed that ds4 saw the other day can only do DISCO so we would need to be referred to ds3's paed for ADI.

Thanks

have done DISCO twice...not offered alternitive.

basically took 3 hours... child not present...questions about pregnancy, birth those first weeks/months/years... feeding difficulties etc....developmental milestones...and generaly as you go mentioning anything that 'felt wrong or different' etc....

i felt the first time she was more thorough...the second time it only took 2 hours as she had heard all the info she needed from me about my 2nd son...since my first was diagnosed i had kept on at her that ds2 was ASD too... so to be fair she could have written it all from memory!

We did DISCO two weeks ago for DS2. It took three hours and was pretty intensive, but it certainly covered everything. I don't know anything about the ADI so can't compare but our paed is very keen on DISCO - says it's 'state-of-the-art' !!!

Thanks to both of you. It actually sounds very similar to ADI, so will see which I get offered first.
