Well, well, well, I can see my LA is among the list of pathfinders.

Each pathfinder authority is to be given £150,000 to help them pilot the proposals. I wonder when the pilot will start, and what it actually means for schools and parents Hmm.

I am considering applying for a statement for my ds and wonder if I should try to get it in before the pilot starts, am very dubious about personal budgets Hmm.

Mine is there too, i read that the 'pilot' started in July 2011. It appears mine have already it into place and have issued 'guidance' to make statements even harder to get.

I have been told by an SEN lawyer that any parent asked to take part in trialling the project should say an emphatic NO because they will not be able to have OT of SLT as part of educational provision for their child and they will lose their right to appeal against any transport decisions.
Now, I haven't seen this written down anywhere but the SEN lawyer - a very experienced and well respected lady- spoke of this at a recent SEN conference I attended. Proceed with caution!

I wonder if that is why I only got "by the relevant therapist" in my proposed statement instead of SALT and OT never mind that the hours were not quantified hmmmm

Thanks for heads up :)
