Piedro Boots - desperate

Aaaarghh - I have just lost another eBay auction for a second hand Piedro boots on eBay. My third attempt to obtain an interim pair
My ASD & hypermobile 2 years old DD's toes are squashed right up against her size 21 Piedro boots and our next NHS physio appointment is not for another month
I already know the physio wants to keep her in the boots yet they usually take at least 6 weeks to come through after being ordered
What does anyone else do to make sure that a new pair are in place before the old ones become too small between appointments ?

And finally does anyone by any chance have a pair of size 22 Piedro boots they would be willing to sell and post to me ?

Could you buy a pair of kickers to tide you over? My dds physio says they are very good

Ring Physio and bring the appt forward Toppy. They shouldn't take more than about 3 wks to be sorted once ordered.
But in the meantime get something cheap like supportive trainers for now...

i don't know anything about piedro boots though, so not sure what the different widths refer to?

that's just one of the ones they have on sale, but there were plenty more on the site in different categories, some in the sale, some not

ring your physio!

You should be able to just ring the orthotics department. DD1 has Piedros, and doesn't see a physio (she has mobility/gait issues, but they aren't 'structural', so the physios feel there is nothing they can do to help her). All we do is phone the orthotics dept. when she is getting bigger, and they measure her and order them.

Thanks everyone. I rang them today and they said they had to be the ones doing the measuring but I could not bring the appointment forward and have to wait four weeks. They said as long as she is not crying from the shoes 'pinching her' or is not in 'obvious discomfort' then she should be okay until the next pair come through (in 10 weeks)

Am a bit Being so young her ASD is an unknown quantity but it would not be unfair to assume she has high pain thresholds like my ASD DS1

I think I will go for a second hand pair of kickers on eBay - don't feel great about second hand shoes but I am going to struggle to pay £40 for 10 weeks of wear.

small children often don't feel the pain of tight shoes because the bones are still forming and surrounded by jelly-like cartilige.
that's a really damaging thing to tell you i think

i would def get her something bigger, or ring them and tell them that she IS crying and won't put them on and what do they want you to do?

buy kickers.

or contact the manufacturer and order and pay for them yourself.

it's such a common problem, this.

have you got an independent shoe store nearby? until dd2 was about 3 or 4, we bought lots of european brands which were extremely supportive (she wore piedros with neuro insoles for several years) - elefanten etc. often they have very good ankle support boots, and they are far far nicer and funkier than any piedros or similar.

it was our physio that recommended our indie shoe shop - the owners were used to sn kids in and out all the time - especially the tiny ones who grew so fast the orthotic appointments system couldn't keep up.
