Birthday present for Asperger's classmate

My DS has been invited to a birthday party for a gorgeous little girl in his class who has Asperger's. He is thrilled to be going as they have only invited a handful of the boys. So, ideas for what to buy her? Don't want to just take easy route and give money, and I don't really want to ask her Mum - mainly for fear of her taking offence (actually a little bit scared some of you will, I really hope you don't!) in a 'get her the same as you would any 10 year old' fashion.

She's a bright, happy, lively little thing and I really would like DS to take her something she would like. £10 - £15ish. Suggestions greatfully received.

I would ask her mum - normally I wouldn't suggest that, but because she has AS it might be best.

My daughter has AS. She used to hate it when people DIDN'T ask what she wanted for her birthday. If people gave her something that she didn't want she was quite capable of asking why they had bought something she didn't want. She has the same attitude to other people's birthdays - she insists people say what they want.

Just thank her mum for the invite and ask her what her DD is into - what characters/programmes/activities she enjoys.

I ask all mums regardless what their kids are into for pressie ideas so she prob won't take offence! Just tell her your not used to buying for girls :)
