Today (last night when I couldent sleep ) , I wrote to the LEA and told them how unforgiveable it was for provision for september not to have been sorted out and put in an I E P before the summer break. Also since the lea and the school seem to be relying on reports Im paying for I asked them to contribute or arrange there own assesments asap . we are going to tribuneral watever happens ( I have promised them). what beats me all the time they are trying to get of this , it must be cheaper and easier to carry out the assesment , are they totally incometent , wankers or both !

ps im taking a disability discrimination case out against the school has anyone gone through this , there is a million and one ways i could think how dd has been discriminated against where do I start !!

Hi hannah, sounds like you are having an awful time. No advice I'm sad to say but I'm sorry that you are going through this.

writing the letters is good therapy , I intend to fight this on my own , no solicitors , parent partnership etc. I have lived with my own hiddern disabilty asd all my life , so i am well aquanted with human rights , discrimination laws etc to have got the support I need . i never imagined i would have to go through all this again for dd , but im up for the disapointments etc. I have to say i think having asd has helped me to deal with this better as i know what life is going to be like for her if she dosent get support.

I know. I have AS. It's very difficult. Good for you. It sounds like you have all the tools you need in order to help your daughter. Do you have any real-life support for you though?

dont fight alone hannahsmummsy its far to tiring exhausting you need a moderator to help put all this knowledge and experience to good use and make sure they sit up and take notice as we all get the runnaround but what they are doing to you takes the biscuit.

I dont trust anyone else not to f@@k the case up . im feeling more in control of life now , I know Im not sending dd back until everythings in place and because education welfare know shes unwell i doubt they with do much about absence .so the incompetent arse holes can jolly well send work home . it will look good at the tribunerall dd cant access school as sod all is in place. the lea lawer says i need to give them time , i said you have had the whole of her secondary education to sort this out , suprise , suprise the poor child has hit crisis point . i dont offten swear but i have to sat they are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnkerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrssssssss

OK so if she's not at school next term you need to organise some home education for her so SHE doesn't lose out. It may be too much effort for them to send work home for her to do - don't have faith that they'll bother for a few months. Cynical moi thinks you should sort summat out yourself.

I'm very much of the school of thought that these people can make mistakes with our kids lives and yet won't even remember their names in 10 years yet we'll be living with the fall out forever iykwim.

Don't rely on them sending stuff home - especially if your child is approaching the exam/coursework years. Education otherwise is an organisation with LOADSA info on home education and they have yahoo groups for different areas such as lone parents/sen/gcse's etc. Do check it out. Oxford homelearning and brightstar are two companies I can think of that do online classes so she can interact with others and get qualified tuition in those subjects you may not be expert in (I'm thinking science GCSE's as depending on your age things may have changed since you were at school, perhaps a modern language?). An hour's tuition a day this way will give YOU an hour to yourself to make phonecalls/chase/prep for tribunal.

Take her to the GP once a fortnight to get it formally logged she's unwell - means there is a paper trail when you get the usual "crap mum shite" thrown at you and stops education welfare/social services from being able to touch you if they wanna take you to court for her non-attendance at school ; ) Cover your back in case they get nasty. It's also evidence towards tribunal.

Keep posting on here - noonecan fight these barstewards without some emotional support at least and we are all here for you! Don't dismiss IPSEA or other organisations support and advice if you can get it. Do you have ANY real life shoulders to cry on? If so don't be too proud to do so. This stuff is mindblowingly difficult to cope with emotionally sometimes.

thanks i pay a lovely teacher bloke to give her maths / english tuition once a week,the gp already knows shes deppresed shes under the chams crisis team , she also has a physical diagnosis of joint condition so that should cover us , i have spoken to ed welfare before and they said they wouldent be on our case as she is unwell. the social worker dropped any suspisions after 2 visits and seems to agree my plan is a good idea . I also may ask the lea for a couple of hrs home tuition since they are resposible for this monumental cock up . i get dla for her (supprisingly that process was quick and easiy) so i have some funds to get help for her . so i feel happy that i can support her for a few weeks x she has some hours at school (7 hours I think )in a foundation class with a good teacher which she will go in for (as not to loose contact) and 1 day a week she goes to FE collage which she loves. so we have some cover . also home schooled for a couple of months a few years ago last time we hit crisis .

as for support myself i go to church and i have a wonderfull carer for my own disability x
