Parent View Form - Statement!!

I recieved the paperwork this morning to complete the 2nd parental view form as LEA has decided to do SA.

Has anyone any tips on advice how I go about doing this one as it has come in subheadings but not much space to write inbetween.

Any advice or tips appreciated!

PP are fantastic in my area and helped me write it making sure i put all the points in we needed and not blathering on repeating myself (as i usually do) as if to bulky they say they wont properly read it i was advised to bullet point all important things i wanted them to keep in mind and we wrote on extra pages but i do think it helps to get someone to take a look through when finished

Hi Anna, I have inboxed you. PP will more then likely be closed at the moment as it is the school holidays. I would stick to the headings but put it in a word document with as much info as possible, this is one of those cases where more is more, haha! Some authorities take no notice of the parent views but some do, in mine the take them into serious account when drafting the statement, you just don't know. If you would like me to have a look when you have finished I am more than happy to, just in box me for my email.

I did similar, used the headings but wrote nine pages of A4 and included a few pictures. Make sure you don't bore them to death but include everything you want to say. I would suggest a summary in bullet points of the main things, eg Given the correct 1:1 support (xx hours) and SALT, OT etc my DS will be able to succeed at school. Without this support he may as well not be there, or something of that sort. Good luck.

they may be closed but might be important to wait if youve time theres other mediators that are open theres SNAP in some areas and global mediation all free for advice and of course SOSsen who will help usually pp is best at knowing what your particular LEA are like so what to tell them what not to and what they are like on certain aspects

I'd ignore any headings that you couldn't care less about or consider irrelevant. i.e. 'please tell us about your child's birth' wtf? How does that effect his provision needed now?

And include any headings that you have gleaned from the SEN code of practice that are relevant.

We have just submitted our last parental comments and it will be going to panel next month. We submitted about 2000 words, in addition to a previous 2000 words for the first stage. I was given a very well written and detailed parental comment by someone. I am happy to share both of these with you. Not quite sure how this works but if you send me your email I will send them to you after the weekend. Our son is asd, if this is relevant to your situation.
