We had a break through with DS!

He's nearly 9 and quite severely dyspraxic....

He has finally mastered the art of showering himself - INCLUDING washing his own hair!!

I am so impressed. I was beginning to think I'd still be sorting him out as a teenager, but he's finally learned to cope with washing himself and washing his own hair (thus getting soap / water in his face)

I was just thinking about sharing our major break through too, ds probably dyspraxic, ASD, hypermobility in all his joints and 7 years old has taught himself to skip yesterday!! (he cant shower himself yet though)

Must be the 6 week holidays Grin

Crikey, that's brilliant! A huge leap forward for young Lewis.

Ds (12) broke his showering world record yesterday at 55 minutes. You wouldn't believe the steam Grin.

We have just stuck with a bath, with lots of bubbles so he just has to do the hair washing. We have an over the bath shower. I can see the bathroom getting very, very wet once he progresses to a shower!

So, well done! Big step forward and your DS can maintain a bit of privacy. Smile

I love light at the end of the tunnel stories. It makes me feel that there is hope that i won't be still showering my DS when he's an adult! Grin
