Fri night too tired for....

Hey everyone,

Just a quicky from me as I am bleurgh (ds has passed the bug onto me, so just ashe is stopping flopping on sofa I am taking his place )

I missed my day out with the Carers Centre today . Had care all set up to help dh with ds, so spent day in bed .

ds missed last day at pre-school, but that meant I was able to pass my contact details to his lovely lovely one to one so we can meet up in hols for a proper good bye, (and may be able to keep in touch with her for 'respite type stuff', which I couldn't really broach at school.)

had appointment about the PGCE (adults) and it looks a real possible... and not too expensive, just gotta get work to agree to observations and providing me a mentor.

how have all your weeks been, (and forgive me if i am quiet tonight, i am posting between loo trips, TMI! )

signandsmile - hiya! sorry you're not feeling well. hope you're better soon. God, I hate being ill - still have to trudge through all my "to do" stuff and just feel cruddy while doing it all. Good luck with the PGCE.

Rotten week here. Literally dreadful. With a few bright spots here and there. DS2 had a lovely birthday - at 5yo, it's the first time he's actually understood it was his birthday and that he was 5 - although he calls it his "number" not his age. As in "what number are you? I'm 5!" It is rather amusing to see people register this initially. We made cupcakes and took them in to class so he was soooo pleased to share with everyone!

DS2's TA finished his transition book for going in to year one - it's brilliant! Small booklet with colour printed pictures his teachers (job sharing), his TAs, the class TAs, his classroom, where he puts his lunchbox, where he puts his coat, where the toilets are, where they go for morning playtime, and where he waits (with TA) at the end of the day for pickup by us. She took him to all the places and took the pictures with him in them. She even got a picture of all the children that are going to be in his classroom together as a class picture with him in it so he'll see who they all are. She is such a lovely woman!! (I wonder if I can kidnap her and bring her along when DS2 goes to Jr school? )

DH bought a bottle of wine to share tonight. Looking forward to it. Most definitely. (oh, and DH went to his first counselling session today - very pleased that he is following through)

Poor sign! It's awful being ill, especially when you are needed or have nice things lined up.

We have had a good week, requesting lots of evidence from all sorts of places. I hate asking for help but have made myself do it. DS is responding brilliantly to visual aids and visual routines we have made with play worker. And melatonin this week, working wonders!

Glad there's positives, smug, I've lurked on your threads and you've had a ropy time of it recently.

I'm tired. Just started a thread about the relentless round of hospital appointments at the moment. I've worked out it'll be 12 in 6 months. She 'only' has mild CP, for goodness sake! But there we go - had a lovely day catching up with our SCBU buddies as all the littlies should be turning two around now, rather than 3 months ago, so we had their 'official birthdays' today. Was lovely.

Sorry to hear you're poorly Sign - especially when you had a day out planned. Hope you recover really quickly.

Triggles, sorry you have had a bad week. Ds's transition stuff all sounds great though and its lovely to hear he enjoyed his birthday.

I have had a horrible week.

Ds1 has been totally distraught about it being the end of term and transition to year 5. He has spent all day at school sobbing about not seeing this year's teachers next year, so much so that when I went to fetch him yesterday afternoon I asked what he'd spilled down his front, as his sweatshirt was soaking - turns out it was tears. He's particularly devastated that the maths teacher he's had for two years is retiring. I always thought she was quite scary - but he adores her.

On top of that the trustees of our house (inherited from Dad in trust a few years ago - still have to pay full rent though ) announced that they (meaning Dad's frankly deranged gf) want to come and inspect the property this Saturday. There has never been an inspection before and we've been here over eight years! She wanted to come there and then on the day she called, but dh put her off for a week. Of course the place was a total tip what with me being ill for months on end and dealing with all ds1's stuff - so I have spent the whole week, sorting, throwing out, scrubbing and repainting (on my own, as dh could only get one day off work and used that to repaint the bathroom). I have even scrubbed all the walls and miles and miles of paintwork.

The positive side to that is that I now have a beautiful, clean, tidy, decluttered house and dd now has her own bedroom (although she hasn't moved into it yet). Negative side is that there isn't a muscle in my body that doesn't ache and I'm so exhausted I feel like could sleep for a month.

Finally, my dog is seriously ill. (I have a thread in the Doghouse about it.) She started behaving oddly on Monday, refusing to drink and knocking her water bowl over in frustration, then seemed better on Tuesday but was obviously unwell by Wednesday night. Then her whole neck and jaw became massively swollen, so we rushed her to the vets who think she has an injury inside her throat that's become infected. She has a huge solid abcess the size of my hand and can't drink or eat without help. She's been on mega antibiotics and antiinflammatories since yesterday and they said if it doesn't go down they will need to rush her in and operate tomorrow, but that it will be a really tricky op, because of the location of the abcess. If anything it looks and feels bigger this evening, so it looks like she'll be having the op. We are supposed to be going on holiday next weekend as well, but don't see how we can if she's just had a complicated op on her neck. Ds1 will totally lose it if we have to cancel as well. I've never seen her this ill, she's such a tough cookie normally and always lively, even if she's unwell. This time she's just lying there staring into space and won't get up.

What a week.

not a bad week, had problems with the hot water cutting out, dcs delighted to not be forced to wash as much. Dd3 has been to visit her new ss and they've been to visit her which all went well and she has her transition book now which we've looked at non stop almost. Both her and ds1 left the school today, bit of an end of an era, seem to have been doing the school run there since the dawn of time!

Hi, hope you better soon sign. Am tired and so glad it's summer hols as most of dd2s appointments stop have had 1 or 2 a day for last few weeks ad am drained. Dd1 got paed next tue to discuss trial of ADHD medication seriously considering it after she shut dd2s thumb in drawer tonite and said 'that will teach her to go snooping!' (dd2 isn't 2 yet!!)
Off to bed soon I'm buggered

Did it feel odd leaving the playground knowing you will never be going back?

Thought I should come back and say something positive. So - despite everything else, I have managed to stick with my diet and have now lost ......... 19lbs! AND that's in spite of making a total of 24 devil's foodcake and dark chocolate ganache cupcakes, 36 vanilla cupcakes with embossed icing and 24 gluten free fairy cakes.

Thank you Chundle, its hasn't been easy, but I'm steadily losing 2lbs a week now and that's keeping me motivated.

Mind you, I still have 2 stone 9lbs to lose.

moose you're doing fantastic!

I'm using www.myfitnesspal to log my daily intake, have cut out all rubbish completely and have upped my activity levels - something I couldn't have done until recently, but finally seem to have left my CFS/ME crash behind now.

Mainly eating lots of fresh fruit and veg, plenty of salads and healthy fats and lots of fat free natural yogurt - plus drinking pukka detox and cleanse teas. Started on 16 June, so just over a month now.

In all honesty, I think just cutting out my evening comfort eating (choc and cakes etc) has made the biggest difference though.

I may have a look at that thanks I have about a stone to lose but it just won't shift!!! You've done amazingly well in that short time

Moose, nice to see you, no wonder you've been quiet, sounds like a hell of a week. Good luck with inspection, and hope your dog pulls through. Last week at school is often stressful, nothing is on timetable, lots of finishing off and tidying up. Nightmare for ASD.

moose - what a busy and stressful week - but hopefully now you can enjoy the house a bit more. Hope your dog will be alright. I don't think DS2 understands that school is "out for summer holiday" as he was asking this morning about going to school. I think if he knew, he'd be a bit more upset at the change, but have to say the last week at school has been so chaotic, he's rather swinging wildly as it is!

Ds1 has been veering wildly from tears and sobs to manic over excitability veering on mania this evening - am so glad he's in bed now.

Lord I ache - if it wasn't for this damn inspection it'd definitely be a pj day for us tomorrow. I'd forgotten how hard housework is when you do it properly.

All this emotional stuff, positive and negative, is really exhausting. I think an early night is called for. Hopefully a few weeks off will recharge everyone's batteries. Night, night.
