I have 2 kids with a statement and wondered if I should part homeschool as well as keep them at school. No easy answer at moment. Would love to hear from others who homeschool their children with special needs

I home ed my ds (12) with Asperger's. Deregistered him Oct 2008 and it's been amazing for him as he was getting no support whatsoever in schools as his condition just wasn't being recognised - he was just constantly punished when he got things wrong, which was all the time Sad. But he's blossoming now and the LEA have agreed that he's in the best placement.

Have you had a look at HE Special, forum for home educators of children with additional needs? netpals.lsoft.com/SCRIPTS/WA.EXE?A0=HE-SPECIAL-UK&X=35E8BE1BB49D305C19

Lots of experienced people on there who might be able to give you some advice.

Also wanted to say, I'm not a fan of flexi-schooling but I know it does work for some. In most cases the schools take precedence and you don't have much freedom to teach your child the way you want to, but it's worth looking into as your situation is obviously different to mine and schools in your area might be more willing to work in partnership.
