Logged onto a ds forum group that I am a part of to see a message about a website.... it is called

sponsor a mong!!!

Thank goodness the site is now closed down...

it contains comments like :

""Can you 'Sponsor a Mong'? Can you? We need chumps generous people to provide financial assistance. For example, some mongs actually want to go to college. I say 'college', but it's really just a balloon-holding class. At best."

here is an interview with the creator

here

I am so glad the site had been closed down - saddens me to think how far we HAVEN'T come in breaking down the barriers....

What a vile person.

SoupDragon · 28/11/2005 10:39

I don't think it's a case of showing how far we haven't come, but simply serves to prove that there will always be ignorant tw@ts in this world.

PeachyPlumFairy · 28/11/2005 10:52

OMG!

jenk1 · 28/11/2005 10:55

i dont know how he sleeps at night, disgusting vile man, just shows what a coward he is-wouldnt even talk by telephone.

PottyinaPearTree · 28/11/2005 10:59

It's just awful eidsvold .

As an aside, that word seems to be on the increase amongst teenagers, to describe a person of limited intelligence. I've had to tell several of my ds2's friends that it's unacceptable & downright offensive.

What a prick!!

How can promoting the use of the word 'mong' be anything other than offensive. that disabled people have posted supportive comments about this disgusting website.

doormat · 29/11/2005 11:18

knobhead

JESSnutsRoastinOnAnOpenFire · 29/11/2005 15:42

I bet he is a utilitarian bioethitcist.. which seems, as far as I can see, to be a modern day Nazi. I posted about utilitarian bioethics on here a while ago.. I was so appalled that I have tried to put the whole thing out of my head.

It is horrifying and scary, the way some very intelligent people feel about disability.

Marina · 29/11/2005 16:00

I'm not sure I'd describe the person responsible for it all as intelligent though Jess . I thought the OUCH response to him was quite clever and showed him up for the offensive sad loser he is

NutcrackingXmas · 29/11/2005 16:03

Bloody hell that is disgusting.

ThomCat · 29/11/2005 16:05

oh MY GOD

motherinferior · 29/11/2005 16:09

Arsehole.

JESSnutsRoastinOnAnOpenFire · 29/11/2005 20:25

No you're right about him Marina.. but re the U.Bioethicists.. most of them are people with PhDs!!!

Marina · 29/11/2005 21:01

I know the sort of person you mean Jess, and yes, they are frightening indeed.

Blandmum · 29/11/2005 21:04

Eidvold, Your darling little one has DS. The person who did this is a vile, twisted excuse for a human being. I know which I think is the better person.

Merlot · 29/11/2005 21:28

It just beggars belief!!!!!!!
