phenergan side effects

my ds, 5, asd, has had 10 ml of phenergan for the last 4 nights before bedtime, in order to try and get him to sleep through the night.

he has slept through the night! (hallelujah!)

however, the last few days he has been really more controlling and tantruming more than usual, and was actually very hyperactive at bedtime tonight.

today he has also had diarreah quite bad.

he doesnt speak, so its so hard to know whether he is ill, or could this be a side effect?

anyone got any experience of this?

notquite the same but ds nt had the same reaction when he had it (years ago) he got very hyperactive the next day

no. have you tried melatonin?

yes! that def had the opposite effect of what it was supposed to do!

we had to discontinue that. he was up all bloody night!

I was given phenergan for DS1 when he was 4 he is now 12, it had the same effect on him as you mention.

I went through 4 yrs of him sleeping just 2 hours a night before we had a breakthrough now he sleeps about 5 hours a night its actually bliss!
