Raised line writing paper for dyspraxic son

DS2's teacher showed me some special paper they were getting him to use this morning. It has raised lines, and I could tell it was expensive by the way she was talking aobut it, but she gave me 2 sheets to use at home.

I've just done a quick search and the packs of assorted raised line paper are at least 30p per sheet as far as I can see.

Has anyone managed to find any cheaper suppliers? If it helps over the last couple of weeks of term I'd like to buy some to use over the summer and would also buy for him to use at school if need be.

I think that is how expensive it is :(

But could you somehow make a raised underlay to be used under normal paper?

I'm thinking maybe cutting strips of sandpaper onto a piece of card as lines, and then just using normal paper over it?

Thank you Lougle and Indigo for your replies - sorry I have had a bad couple of weeks and didn't manage to come back on to check. The frame looks good, so I'm thinking of trying that as it will be cheaper in the long run.

This is just a totally random reply and dont know if it would be any good as I have never seen raised line paper before. But in the craft shops you get stamps that score the paper and leave embossed pattern for tags and cards etc. What if you got say.... a kiddies playdough cutter and used the thick back edge and scored slightly thicker paper from the underside so to speak?

coff33pot thanks for the suggestion - a friend mentioned embossers yesterday so I'll definitely look into it.
