Noticing the smallest detail

what things do your dc notice which you would be oblivious to?

DS 7 noticed that I had deleted five of his spongebob sky+, he tapes every episode. Straightaway he noticed and recited the titles this is out of pages of sb episodes.

Then today he had me gobsmacked, we have a National trust card and visited a Tudor Mansion, when we entered one of the rooms there were about twenty people looking at four massive tapestries a tour guide said "there is an animal hidden within the tapestries"

DS pointed and said "Peacock" we had been in the room about 15 seconds, once he pointed it out I could see it but the tour guides chin hit the floor. She said very rarely does anyone find it :)

Most things! He is really observant and then remembers those details forever. Every conversation about something that happened in the past is prefaced with a description of what the weather was like, what he was wearing, where we were going etc....... Amazing skill :)

DS does something similar but with the year, he adds it on to anything he is telling me about. In 2008 blah blah.

They are amazing aren't they.

DS who is 4 remembers we bought a water sports bottle at Sainsburys 2 year ago when he was completely non-verbal.

Dd2 knows where I've been, who I've been with & what I ate by the odour (I do not honk!) as she is very sensitive to smells.
Budding wine connoisseur or perfumist me thinks.

DS remembers places eg he can remember a path round a shopping centre back to the automatic doors exactly

I have never noticed a pattern in DS memory skills (apart from flipping ben 10 facts) and he does notice the smallest silliest things.
he brought home an instruction sheet from his beevers club and the bullet points were numbered 1-2-3-3-4.....he noticed the extra 3 before anthing else. :)
we were sat at DD's gymnastics club and he randomly told me about a van he saw on a trip to get the christmas tree from asda 4 months previously. He said its was an orange van, not green like the others (the asda vans).

Ive noticed though that once he has something on his mind he HAS to verbalise it ASAP or else it sticks in his head and he doesnt like it IYGWIM

dd2 was getting very excited about my upcoming birthday. in passing, i mentioned it was on Wednesday (she knew it was next week), adn she said "oh, match! jut like my birthday, mummy"

I was , and looked it up on the calendar - sure enough, 7 months ago, dd2's birthday was on a Wednesday....

I recently realised my son knew all the numbers on the little miss and mr men books .....also if say a certain word he will know if it is in his childrens dictionary (which he loves)
He also remembers dates/days that meant something to him from year or so ago.

At the Camhs meeting which was the first time DS had even been there, we entered a room and DH and I sat down. DS walked over to some toys and then promptly turned around looked up and asked "what is that ipod speaker button doing up there (it was a microphone)and pointed to the ceiling! The woman was dumbfounded as we had only just entered the room!
