dd2 has just toppled off her chair really badly and bruised her cheek. i need a chair desperatly for her, it has to be a tripp trapp/breezi as i know these chairs are suitable for her and she wont fall as often. i am not sure if the cheaper versions fron tchibo etc will be sturdy enough for her. so where does cheap tripp trapp chairs? need one for after the weekend. i know i should wait for OT really, but i am worried dd2 is really going to get hurt.

Misdee, can you contact your HV to tell them that you are really struggling and that DS is putting herself in danger.
Ask her if she can talk to the OT for an urgent appointment as sounds like you really need one.
Ask the HV if she can call the equipment centre at SS to see if she can arrange the chair for you!!!
Dont spend your own money when you dont have to, you are entitled to recieve the appropriate equipment needed for your DS rather than having to settle for something that may not be as good.

Good luck

its the stability of the chairs that is a problem. HV clinic is open this afternoon so iwll pop down then. just had enough. she fell off it whilst trying to get on it, and the back whacked her in the face as she fell. she needs a footstep type thing to help her keep her balence, she is too big for standard highchairs and she is 3yrs old and wont sit in them anyway.

Just thought, are you near a child development centre as they may have some there that you can borrow until you get an appointment with the OT??

Good luck, thinking of you.

this is the same sort as we have.

It is pretty sturdy and doesn't tip over backwards. ds2 is very clumsy and has lowish muscle tone and gets on well in it. (Ds2 is 4 and weighs about 31/2 stone and it copes well with him.)

HTH Sorry got to dash
