Advice re Sound Production in SaLT

Ds has been under S&L for almost a year now. We started off working on his 'S' sound then trying s with a vowel sounds. He couldn't grasp this so we moved onto S word final in feb. Although he has grasped this and can manage any words that finish with an s sound when prompted, its not coming in his every day speech.

Any advice on what I can do?

Sounds just like my ds - really don't have any magic answers apart from being patient and maybe taking the pressure off slightly - with ds we found that the more we tried to get him to blend sounds the harder he found it to the point where he was starting to refuse to do it cos it was hard and he knew he would fail. Ds is now using more words in day to day speech and although its really slow hes becoming more confident so his SaLT and I have "backed off" and are taking our cues for his therapy from him iykwim.
