this morning i spoke to the SEN team at the LEA.
Very stroppy woman, "unless you send ds back into school then we cant help you" i said that i would not be doing that, "well then he will never be asessed as having special needs"
and "CAMHS have no right to tell you that you are doing the best thing re ds,s needs, there are laws in place for this sort of thing" yes but he is very depressed for goodness sake and the last time he was depressed he self harmed and was talking about killing himself, "well if you send him back in school we will make allowances for that"
i then spoke to the school welfare officer who was much more helpful and told me that ds might qualify for home tutoring as he has a medical problem,she said that ds school should have asked for an educational psychologist to come and asess him, i told her that the head has had a report from the hospital on her desk since july and she went quiet.
Can i be doing anything else re SEN because they were so unhelpful and they are supposed to be there to help parents of special needs children
