I've just been trying to fill in my first ever application and would appreciate some help.

Q1. It says I can't refer them to my GP but honestly my son has seen so many "professionals" once or twice and none of them actually know him well as it requests on the form.

I'd honestly prefer not to ask his new school following the way I was treated at the "nursery" meeting as I prefer to keep my finances as none of their fooking business rather than more "evidence" I'm a crap Mum. I'm taking the lea to tribunal and the council is pulling out all the stops to intimidate me iyswim.

We stopped going to church as I got a bad vibe off one of the Dads (who has just been done for child porn so my instincts were spot on) so I'd feel odd asking the vicar

Who can I ask? Should I ring them? If they do a home visit they'll see I need the items I'm asking for. I'm just not up to the humiliation of asking the school etc right now to help. Easier to give my lad my bed and kip on the floor.

Q2. Is a cabin bed at £200 for in the argos sale for DS and £300 for a new moppable vinyl living floor OK to ask for, or will they consider it too much?

I have just done my first application so don't really know but put the paediatrician down. I heard that if you get HRC then you don't have a home visit and that you get a higher amount if it is your first application. Sorry, not very helpful but thought I would respond.

We've been signed off by the peadatrician : ( I despise my local cahms service with a passion, more so after their wonderful "input" at the "nursery " meeting than I would have thought possible. Just put in a complaint about them to my MP so not the best time to call in a favour lol!

I could ask the autism outreach lady as she did the salt report for DS's statement. I see her tomorrow so will ask her if she minds. It's difficult as he's attended 3 educational institutions this school year - the new school really don't know us that well yet.

Sadly DS gets medium rate (dunno why as sleeping thru the night just isn't his "thing) so we will get a home visit but I honestly don't mind that as the items I'm asking for are directly home related iykwim. Showing is easier than writing down why I want/need the items I do methinks.

One of my biggest issues is that DS keeps getting appointments with a myriad of "professionals" who may or may not see him once for half an hour, write a useless report and then disapear into the ether, never to be seen again. This application just brought it home to me I think.

I have to say that so far we have been lucky with our medical professionals if not the school in that they appear to be in it for the long haul. I have no idea if they even contact the people that we have to put down and apparently (according to the FF facebook page) you don't even need to put one down.
