How do I word my email to Senco?

I need to let school know about DD2s aspergers diagnosis and get them to actually listen to me.

problem is i'm working nights and can barely remember my own na,me let alone string a proper sentence together.

Do i just request a meeting to discuss DD or do I make demands requests now? and what do I want them to do for her?

Any ideas? Thanks.

I would suggest you do both: meeting later, a few time critical but small, easy-to-meet demands now.

The main demand is try and get her seen by the educational psychologist this term, so if she decompensates next term, they'll have a baseline.

And the others are a transition planning meeting with next year's teacher, plus that sources of training for staff are investigated (cos it would be a shame if your dd's next teacher or TA missed out on a course because no-one noticed it till half way through next term).

Terrible memory but am I right in thinking your DD is about 14? (apologies if way out).
I told school initial AS dx when I got it (DS is 8 so primary), they were genuinely surprised by it - had DS down as a sensitive soul but that was it. Within days they started noticing his AS behaviour. Now 5 months on they finally have a copy of his written report which includes loads of recommendations from the ASD team about things that should be put in place at school. the ASD team are also going to send in a specialist ASD teacher to make further recommendations.
DSs school were reluctant to do anything much before they had the written dx in their hand, as although any help in school should be based on need rather than dx DS achieves in an average way, just under par for what would be expected for a child of his intelligence, so the school are now about to call in teh Ed Psych to assess him on the belief the Ed Psych will suggest 1:1 provision in the mornings - as that is what all other ASD children in the school get.
Although I have taken the softly softly approach, it may not work for everyone - I have a very good relationship with the school and the head and knew that they would do the best for DS when they could back themselves up with written dx, as they wanted to be sure they got the best for him.
