People making comments re SNs in public

DH just came back from taking DS2 on a long walk in the Maclaren to the supermarket to pick up a few things. He was doing a favour for me, actually (as I'm the driver in the family) as I was tired and not really up to a trip to the supermarket this morning. Plus DS2 loves going on long walks (as long as he doesn't actually have to walk the whole way LOL).

DH was fuming. Said that 3 different times he had people making comments about DS2 (4yo) being in a pushchair. He ignored the first 2, but the third one, he went off at them and said "It's a special needs pushchair - is that a PROBLEM for you?!?!" Apparently that woman turned bright red, looked down, and scurried off pretty quickly at that.

I will never understand why people feel the need to comment, tut, make faces, point, laugh, whatever.

If any of you decide to make the cards - I'll take 1,000, every time we are in public there is some dickhead giving me the eye, usually over the age of 50!

Maybe we could go for some that say -

'and No I am not a bad mother!', for when there is a total meltdown situation in the bank or post office?!?!?!?

MissKittyEliza · 10/07/2011 13:48

It doesn't matter if the blue badge parking bay lies empty ALL DAY. It should be left available for bage holder use ONLY. Full stop.

unpa1dcar3r · 10/07/2011 17:38

Allie why are you even on this site?
This is for parent/carers of special educational needs.
You seem to have none so why are you here?
Not being rude but if I am so what. I don't actually give a shit. You're ruder taking up bays which werre specifically designed for people with SEN and thinking that's ok.
You can try to justify your use of these bays 'til the cows come home love, but you won't succeed. Because you are wrong.
Until you experience it you are talking out of your arse.

coff33pot · 11/07/2011 22:30

Well! I cant say anymore than what unpa1dcar3r has said to be honest other than boy Alliez are you one argumentative, hair on the back of the neck raising muppet!

I dont need a disabled bay to park in I am lucky to the extent that DS needs are not such that requires one. But with ppl like you around no wonder these poor ppl have such a stressfull life!

You put your post forward I feel in hope of retribution to then belittle each reply. These woman are RIGHT you are WRONG. Wrong to post here and be negative wrong to park in a disabled bay private or not. Human decency in recognizing that it is required for disabled ppl should be enough. Cant park in your school TOUGH then take the appropriate measures and put in a request with the school to provide adequate parking failing that get another job. And as for parking at a 45o angle yes it can be done on your own so dont be so patronizing. I do it all the time seeing as where I live is a mountain of hills but then it does take experience maybe you should practice at it Hmm. So your bad parking is just a poor excuse for parking in a disabled bay. Dont like it? invest in an old 4x4. Better still keep your sarky unhelpful and patronizing answers to yourself.

And if this is classed as rude....................I am sure to go with your hard attitude you have a pair of very broad shoulders one which has a chip on............

Cant park in your school TOUGH
Sure. Next time I find no parking space I will just turn round, go home and direct the LA HR department to you for the disciplinary procedure. Can I have your name and address?

as for parking at a 45o angle yes it can be done I do it all the time
OK, let me see: so you can park on a 45% grass bank that is shorter than your car. Woman, you must contact Brian Cox because I'm afraid this contradics the laws of Physics as we know them at the minute. And what is a "mountain of hills" anyway? And a 45o angle?

invest in an old 4x4
Why? Just because there is a grassy bank 4 ft long at the school? I live in a city, so no thanks. Or will you pay for a 4x4 for me?

allie, Going home if you can't park in the school???? Are you serious? do what so many of the rest of the people working do..... park in a public car park, pay and walk. (Leaving enough time to get to work.)

Unless you have access to a parking space written into your contract, if not I think you find your HR are unimpressed with your no-show.

I have to say your posts are really making me glad about my ds's teachers. they have been brilliant and we can really work together well. When I read what you have written I think there are only two options, either you actually mean what you say Shock, or you are trolling, in which case winding people up about a topic like this is more than a little warped, and I would be concerned to find you in my son's school.....

MissKittyEliza · 15/07/2011 19:19

Allie.....go away now, would you? Please.

AllieZ · 15/07/2011 20:29

Please read my post describing the school.
I also find it truly amazing how short-sighted some people on this forum are.
Someone earlier suggested I take the train. Hallo? Are you aware that many rural parts of the UK don't have trains?! Are you able to think outside London?
Now that I should park in a public car park and pay. Hallo? Have you heard of areas with no public car parks? Next to motorways, industrial areas etc?
I mean yeah: I could get up at 6 and walk, it would only take 2 hours every morning, in winter closer to 3, but never mind, anything than to park in a disabled space.... Are you guys for real?

Allie.....go away now, would you? Please
Sure. You all seem to be so unreal as regards disabled parking that I really have no interest in debating this issue with planet Zorg.

coff33pot · 15/07/2011 20:33

Alliez 45o angle...........miss read on my part shoud read 45% incline and before this goes in bold I will answer yes I can read

mountains of hills..............my figure of speech. Mountains of washing.......mountains of sandwiches...........mountains of shops........it means a load of. Hope that explains the way I talk/write. Our hills down here were only originally suitable for horse and card and not cars as officially they are too steep. Yes they have put houses on them and yes we park on them.

No you would not want my name and address as I would tell your HR what a horrible argumentative person you are who obviously has a very short friends list for writing xmas cards......

Oh and yes you are correct I am a woman.

Whatever you type or whatever sarky digging comment you put it still doesnt deter the fact that you are WRONG to park in a disabled bay end of. So give us all a rest. Leave this post alone. And go back to whatever hole you crawled out of and bug someone else as none of this is fair to the person that made this thread to be honest.

ds school is so out of date its unbelievable. its all mobile classrooms etc. nowhere near enough parking spaces, 4 disabled bays, which probably isnt anywhere near enough. ive been to his school a few times, and have struggled to find a parking space, but was advised that the bar, bank across the road have no objection to us parking there, nor do the mcdonalds, the hospital, or the local library. school is being relocated next year, so will hopefully solve the parking issues. yes we all have disabled children who attend the school, but that doesnt give us an automatic right to use the disabled space. its so infuriating when the disabled spaces are taken. worse still when all the parent & baby spaces are taken, by people who dont have children. in these situations ive wished i could use the disable space, but i cant and dont. people who arent disabled or have dont have disabled children, just dont get how valuable those spaces are. there there for a reason, so bog off n leave them alone, unless you have a blue badge!
