Part 4 of Statement - when is it possible to change school?

Hi,

Again another question on behalf of a friend.

If a ms school is named in part 4 of the statement but the parents want the child in another ms school, how hard is it to switch school - besides moving house? Has anyone done it?

Is the change a like for like school, ie mainstream for mainstream or special school for special school? Has a previous request been made within the last twelve months?
