bloods test - what are they looking for?

DD's paed mentioned at the last appointment that he might take some blood for blood tests when we meet again. I totally forgot to ask what he might be looking for...

DD (3) has severely delayed and disordered speech, some asd traits, hypermobile...

Don't worry - these will just be routine blood tests to rule out any underlying physical illness. My son had this done at an early paed appointment, they found he was slightly anaemic!

Might be to rule out Fragile X which can be mistaken for ASD. Fragile X is not very common and easy to rule out with a blood test.....
