Ds2 (26 months) has finally decided to let go of my skirt, finger etc and go it alone! I thought he would never pluck up the confidence. He does have such a funny little walk - arms are very flexed and held high that you cant help but smile and he is so pleased with himself

Hope you dont mind me sharing this, but it feels so nice to have something positive to say

Congratulations Merlot! My DS does the arm thing too - think it is just because they are so used to having a hand there.

doormat · 13/11/2005 17:22

merlot best news I have heard all day
how lovely for you and your ds

Pages · 13/11/2005 17:49

Btw, Merlot, does your DS have any hypermobility/muscle tone difficulties and/or need piedro boots? Just wondered as following another thread re this...

Merlot · 13/11/2005 21:36

Thanks again everyone

Pages - ds does have slightly low muscle tone, but he doesnt have any special boots or anything.
He has a very wide gait though. I think the arms held high help with balance?

piffle · 14/11/2005 11:31

merlot seeing that about piedro boots, dd has mild hypotonia and has peidro boots, they are gorgeous, ask physio about them, or your health professional, they are excellent boots and beautiful to look at now too! DD has red suede ones with a cat on!

Pages · 14/11/2005 12:48

I agree Piffle, DS used to have a very wide gait but it is almost normal now.

ThomCat · 14/11/2005 13:05

Wow, oh that's wonderful news.
Why on earth would anyone mind hearing such great news.
