I hope it's not against the mumsnet rules to post this.

There's a facebook vote to win money for charities happening right now, the vote closes Wednesday night USA time, about 30 hours from now. All you need is a facebook account to vote for the charity of your choice, it doesn't cost you anything apart from two minutes, and you can be anywhere in the world. The top prize is $500,000.

My charity of choice is the Whittemore Peterson Institute which researches autism, ME/CFS, fibromyalgia and other related conditions. The founder Annette Whittemore is a former special needs teacher teaching children with autism, ADD, and learning disabilities, and her own daughter has ME/CFS.

First you go to www.facebook.com/ChaseCommunityGiving and click "Like"

Then you go to apps.facebook.com/chasecommunitygiving/charities/205904991-whittemore-peterson-institute-fo and click the green vote button to vote for WHITTEMORE PETERSON INSTITUTE.

They are currently in 8th place, and the higher up they go, the more money they win. The top prize is $500,000, but if they can maintain their current position at number 8, they will win $100,000 for research which will still make a lot of difference. They have already published research into ME/CFS, and more research into the other neuro-immune conditions they study is ongoing all the time. Ahead of the WPI are a marching band and a garden society. I think children with autism or ME/CFS need the money more.

If you decide to vote, please also pass on this message to as many people as you can.

Thanks for reading.
