hi all
im woundering if someone maybe able to help me, my son who is 2 was diagnosed last year with cerabrol palsey. this was a shock as his twin sister is perfectly"normal".
i get careas allowance and my son gets middle rate disability allowance i take my son to sessions 4 days a week and i have to put his twin in chlidcare as she cannot go to the sessions.
when we have renewed are tax credits this year i told them about the careas all and they said its classed as income so when i asked if i get help with childcare cost they said no as im not working...... does this sound correct i care 24 for my son i want the best for him and they say i dont work but im classed as getting a income?
my husband works 30 hrs a week he had to cut them to help with my son.
im thinking of writting to the primeminister as i find this stupid could someone please advice me on the rediculouse situtation
thank you

I know when I asked they said I couldnt have it because I wasnt putting DD2 into childcare for me to work, but still cost me the same (her SN school is going up to £42 a session in sept!)

im sending a email to no 10 not that it will do any good...... i didnt think i would be the only person it's stupid if they cant pay it because where not going to work then why class it as income?
we want the best for the children and we get punished.
thank you for the reply's keep them coming xxx

Social services disability team SHOULD pay for this as the sessions are essential for both children (eg you can't leave DD outside in the street!)

I think it comes under a section 17 assessment but someone will be along soon who knows better than I the ins and out of SS and how they help familes and carers.

Also worth trying the education department as free early nursery places are available to some familes classed as being in need.
