reports from paed and salt?

do you usually get a report after seeing the dev paed and the salt. and if so, how detailed are they usually?

we saw paed about 3 weeks ago and so far haven't received anything.

also, we saw the salt a while ago and got the "report" back. it just says that DD has been assessed and her expressive/receptive language at the level of X years and Y month and that she has been pointing appropriately and that she has been waiving bye bye (in all about 150 words). strikes me as extremely short... is this standard?

TIA

yes you usual get a report, ime relatively detailed (2 pages). It takes time for report to get dictated, then typed, then checked, then signed, then posted so unfortunately it can take several weeks to get out to you. No harm in politely phoning up secretary to check it's not gone astray in post. I'ld say SALT reports/correspondence vary in length depending on the circumstances.

our SALT reports have always been about 2 pages in length

We seen Paed and Salt and got a report which was probably just over one sheet of A4 paper. It detailed their observations of DD at CDC/ playgroup and her speech and language skills. It did take probably a couple of months for this to come to us while in the mean time, like yourselves, we got the shorter SALT report.

Our paed reports are usually 2 pages but they take over a month to get to me! Dont have SALT yet we are on the list! But are OT reports are about 4 pages long all handwritten and given to me within the week

The length of report is often very dependent on local policy in the area. Some will be just one page.

Blimey my DD has been attending SALT since 2009 and we have only ever had one 2 page report and that was at my request for SA request hmmmm!

imawigglyworm · 15/05/2011 21:56

our paed and salt reports are generally only 1 page each, but DS is only 2yrs so maybe as they get older theres more to 'report' making them longer iyswim?
