I got my son a DS XL and want to find some good games for him to enjoy. He is 5,ASD, loves numbers but not at the reading/ writing stage soon. Any suggestions please?

DS 7 loves his NDS, I can recommend Mario bros, Sponge bob drawn to life, junior brain training. My DS loves scribblenauts he can't spell so we do have to help him. There is a new art game can't recall the name but it is aimed at younger children that looks good.

There are loads of new games based on TV progs like Phineas and Furb, Horrid Henry.....can't comment as we don't have those.

In the shops that sell only video games they have a large section of pre-owned, I can't see that they would have a problem if you take the DSI with letting you try it before you buy.

apparently there is a game to do with dogs too where you groom them, take them on walks etc

if he's interested in cooking, would recommend cooking mama. there are also diego/dora/peppa pig games if he's into that sort of thing. Lego Indiana Jones is good, he will need a small amount of help with written instructions for that. cheapest place to buy 2nd hand is CEX I find, otherwise game station. for new games the supermarkets can be cheaper
