Thanks for all the help so far. DS's 'keyworker' has completed the paperwork to put in the request for asking for a stat assess for DS2. He has ASD and is 3.8. It will, hopefully, go to panel next week and then we will know if they will consider the stat assess for DS2.

We have been doing the bit for parents comments, and have so far typed up 2.5 pages. We initially did a big list of bullet points of all the areas he will need help with an then an explanation of how this is a problem for him, then we thought this may be too 'cold' and so now we have a page of our concerns as parents, and worries and some examples, followed by our bullet point list. We have no idea where to start, just wondered what anyone else had put for their parents comments. Any words of advice? We need to do it by the end of the week! Thanks

Tbh I did less than you have done. This is parental contribution 1. Once (hopefully) you get approved for stat assess you get to do parental contribution 2 which I wrote loads for, including pictures of DS to make them see him as a person, not just a statistic. I think at this stage (1) you have to make his current problems accessing education really clear without going into all his early history. What you feel his needs are and how do you think they can be met. ie only with suitably experienced and trained 1:1 plus any other therapies reqd. That he is currently really struggling without suitable support etc. The point at this stage is to get them to assess him, they'll decide on what his needs are once they assess him.
