SPEECH & LANGUAGE THERAPY ONLINE IDEA

1 in 10 children in the UK,
2 or 3 in every classroom -
have communication
difficulties that require
specialist help. .....ICAN
My business idea is to develop a software tool which allows the speech & language therapist (SLT) to deliver therapy anywhere online via a web cam to children with speech, language and communication needs (SLCN). There will be over 50 fun, interactive games that can be personalised by the SLT using an extensive, well-organised database of over 5000 words (written & spoken) and pictures. The SLT would also be able to have a paperless office as all their admin can be kept securely online. This idea is not meant to replace the face to face contact of a SLT but will merely enhance and supplement it, efficiently and quickly.
I found out today that I have been short-listed to the final 10 out of 240 entries , in the Barclays 'Take One small Step' Competition. IT is really exciting and I hope I will get to the final stage of the last 3, who will then go to the public vote. I could be the only one on the Isle of Wight in this final stage but will be competing with 2 other people who are not restricted by a stretch of water in the Southern region. Therefore, I REALLY NEED YOUR HELP!

Thank you very much for reading this. I will keep you posted if I get to the final stage. If you have already placed a comment, I really appreciate it and it can take a few days for this comment to be registered. However, you could ALL do me another favour and send this email to all your friends on your address book. Thank you again

Hey Bev

Interested to hear this as I entered in a different region and we and others had big problems wih submitting our written entry and video. We ended up at Barclays request sending in video by email and drop box. 3 weeks after competition closed we are still waiting for the video to go up on the Take One Small Step site.... We have been told our entries will NOT be judged until the videos are live on the site, so concerned that you know you have been shortlisted to final 10. May I ask how did you hear and from whom?
Thanks
