Struggling today :(

  1. DS' behaviour has regressed over the last week. Hitting, kicking, shouting etc. I am really struggling to deal with it.

  2. School failing to do anything from either of the OT reports they have. For example, they still haven't given him long loop scissors or ensure that he uses the move and sit cushion. Can't see that they are going to agree 1:1 etc. They made him work through his lunchtime today even though the OT report says not to do this.

  3. Off to Paed for 1st appt as I believe that there is something else apart from dyspraxia & SPD. Thinking aspergers or ADD. My mum refuses to believe that these could be an issue.

  4. My health is bad - I have to have an angiogram to see what is happening with my blood flow as extremities are blue and cold, can't breath properly at the moment and it is looking like I will need an operation to remove a rib. This is my last day of pay after 6 months on sick leave.

Gaaaah! Completely self-indulgent post and not expecting any replies. Blush

i know just how you feel this week. DD(7) is diagnosed with dyspraxia but due to worsening behaviour is now being assessed for ASD.
we had a nightmare shopping trip on friday night. then she stood on her windowsill wanting to jump out. she hit her sister and this week her fave phrase is fucking dickhead. saturday was roughly the same, then last night we had a tantrum too. i wanted to walk out and not come back. i felt like crying, shouting, hitting anything just to make someone realise what i felt like

Crap day (week/year) Ben10. It's just one thing after another sometimes. Was it you who posted the DLA form last week? Hopefully will come back with some money to ease your financial situation a bit. Good luck with the paed, remember your written list of questions, too easy to forget stuff.

Removing a rib sounds extreme! Got a visual joke to cheer you up, you'll have to use your imagination.

Have you heard my joke about the GESTAPO?

No?

LIES!

that sounds rough ben, hope you're able to feel better soon Brew

Grin EllenJane

You have made my smile despite the tears :)

Since last April, we have been stuck in Tenerife due to the volcanic ash, DH got made redundant, had a flood which wiped out the whole ground floor, I got ill, then DS's issues became clear, DH took a job paying far less than old job, I went through consultation for redundancy. It is now too much for me to deal with.

However I know that others have it much much worse and DS despite his issues is healthy. My parents can give us money and the DLA hopefully will come through. I have a huge list of issues that I have already emailed the paed and my mum is coming with me so will have to face the truth.......

Worst thing is I can't drink myself into oblivion due to my tablets Grin.

On the bright side... if school are being that useless, your asking the LA for a statutory assessment today will look quite reasonable.

Ben10isthespawnofthedevil · 09/05/2011 21:16

Thank you ladies for the support.

The termly meeting with the EP and LEA behavioural specialist is next week so am biding my time to see if by any chance they decide to play ball and start treating him properly. If they don't I'll go absolutely mad I'll start the Statutory Assessment process.
