I have bad myopia. I am now 33 and at my worst I was -15 and -14. I am now -13 ish. I have had contacts since age 13 prescribed by the nhs contact lenses clinic so the cost is greatly subsided. Apparently they keep the eye from getting worse too quickly.

I have been able to achieve loads due to the lenses like learning to swim and playing volleyball to national league level.

Thanks

At what stage did you vision start to stabilise/improve. I have had contact lens mentioned before but he is too young at the moment

My eyesight was quite static up until about 5 years ago when it started to gradually improve. I do know that children can wear lenses if there are medical reasons and the parents/children can tolerate them - not sure whether wearing them at his age would stop his eye sight getting worse?
