Tomorrow Independent Special School are going to meet ds at the autism base to assess whether the school can meet his needs for post 16. Feel so nervous, not sure what they'll look for, will ds cooperate (would it be better if he didn't?
) will they see what they need to see? They would normally go in and observe with the child being unaware but ds wouldn't handle a stranger in his presence well so he will meet and chat (all questions have been given and explored in advance with TA from the unit)if he is able with the head of post 16.
Will be back with an update as soon as the head of the base lets me know. Fingers crossed because if this is a no it's going to be residential and I want him at home a while longer yet.
