Help - advice please!
I have 2 dc, 7 and 4 yo and will be getting 4 hours per week in Direct Payments for a carer for my elder ds who has ASD and attends special school.
Despite needing the help, I'm now feeling guilty! Will a carer get the most out of him or should I be trying somehow to get some 'real' ASD therapy for him at these times? (No offence intended to SN childminders!) I know many have strong feeling about particular ASD interventions but having seen 2 friends ds, one with their ABA therapist, the other using Son-Rise, both to me seemed like lovely people trying to get the most out of the respective lads. My ds is mostly passive and under-stimulated. Has anyone experience of using respite care slots to get respite by someone trained in ASD?
Many TIA.
