Just a whinge

Feel free to ignore.

I hate Easter and Christmas and any stupid special occassion where I get all prepared and excited and then see how far back DS has regressed when he doesn't even understand what is going on anymore.

I don't get it. 2 years ago he was running around the garden collecting eggs at almost 3 really excited, now at almost 5 he just doesn't have a clue what i'm talking about.

It made me feel really sad.

many of us have been or are still there, with special occasions tinged with sadness, with a regression it must be particularly sad for you, as you will have past occasions to compare with. I hope that next year he starts to understand more, with trees/eggs etc.

Thanks, it only seems obvious at times like these. I hope everyone else is ok

Gosh, that's so hard, hanaka. He will make progress, and get there again, I'm sure. (((hugs)))

Brew sorry to hear that hanaka. Dd3 (5) doesn't get any of it, but then she never has done, must be hard to see the regression.

I'm not surprised you're upset. Hopefully he will re-learn these things.

hanaka88 · 24/04/2011 13:47

Thanks everyone, he is relearning so I hope things will get better... Or I'll learn to deal with them better :)

other things have happened which made today really emotional for me. I bet we all have these days
it's good to have somewhere to vent

We haven't even attempted to explain it to DS2 at this point. It would only baffle him and frustrate us. It is sad and frustrating, but I don't really think to him it's any different from any other day.
