Who would I see to get the above for my son? He can manage fine on shortish walks but on long walks or very hilly areas he is in pain and tires easily.

We have a self referal physio at our gp surgery, would that be the right place to go.

He is on the waiting list to see an o.t but have been told that appt is months away.Sad

I would see both physio and OT. Even if the physio can get you the chair it defiantly can't help to have her backing

that should have said can't hurt, sorry

Have you tried asking the gp for a referral.I would go and see him and tell him you need an urgent referral. The trouble with wheelchair clinics is thaqt you can wait anything up to a year for a wheelchair-it depends which area you are in,certainly where i live it can take that long.Physio's generally do not get too involved with wheelchairs it is more the ot's.hth

Sorry for not replying sooner, been dealing with ds and friendsSmile.

I will make an appt for the gp then and get another ball rolling.

Everything is a bloody battle isn't it, from statutory assessment to dla to wheelchairs.Angry

Im in scotland so dont know if different where you are but i always get chair and mac major through referral from comm paed. HTH
