Anyone got any positive stories about Local government Ombudsman investigations?

Hi, I am losing faith swiftly in any of the government bodies that exist to assist. Does anyone have any positive examples of their experiences with the LGO?

fab news, yet PCTs are still rationing? Has yours stopped doing so for everyone?

Not sure i know several families still struggling to get good quality nappies i just tell them to complain and keep going up the ladder until they get the rersponse they need.

This is my first post, so I hope I'm doing it right...
I have complained to the LGO twice; once about social services and once about education - neither were particularly easy (felt that they were far from independent or willing to dig into all the paperwork!) but each time we were awarded £1000 compensation.

Good luck with your battle :)

Nikki.

I've got a complaint being investigated with the LGO. I spoke to a representative last week who didn't seem to be very keen on doing anything much despite the admitted failure to provide the provision in my son's statement. The attitude was very much 'it all looks like it's being sorted now' and 'it's not actually a failure to make provision, rather, it's taken a long time to set the provision up'.

Mmmmm, this is 13 weeks after my son's statement was issued. I had to argue about pursuing it. The fact is that it is not in place and I'm tired of people suggesting that the complaint is just because things aren't happening 'as quickly as you'd like'.

I have had dealings with Ofsted before and I just think these oversight bodies will do anything for an easy life so no wonder LAs get away with murder.
