As hugely cynical as I can be, this had to be seen to be believed. The difference is absolutely astounding, and he says that the words "stay still" and the letters don't move off the page. His reading speed has increased by over 50%. So to anyone with a very dyslexic child, if it's offered, try it :)

DD1 had purple ones for SSS it was a drastic improvement for her, only ever had one problem and that was when she went to high school one teacher wouldn't believe her when she said they weren't sunglasses.

Dd2 had orange ones for her tracking issues, problem was she worries soo much about fitting in socially that she only wore them for 6 months and then wouln't have them on at school.

They did her some grey scale ones which worked for a while. Till she got teased by someone.

They made an incredible difference to her reading.Smile.

This about Scotopic Sensitivity Syndrome, which is one of the visual processing disabilities which can cause the dyslexic symptom.
There are more issues than just dyslexia which may need investigating, the link about is to my main Invisible Disability research paper collection web page, and you will have to scroll down the page to find the link to the Scotopic Sensitivity Syndrome research paper collection.

Yes -spot on dolfrog, we did all the research beforehand, and we found out much later in the process that our optician has the intuitive colorimetry testing equipment and in all it's been a three year process ...hence why I am SO pleased! He has ASD as well and between the two sets of learning needs and such a struggle to achieve in anything involving reading, it is an absolutely enormous breakthrough.
So thrilled I had to post here, just in case anyone had been offered it and thought it was mumbo-jumbo or hype. I realise it won't work for everyone, but thankfully ds1 is lucky and as my research and experimenting and later the optical testing both showed, he is a good candidate.
