well this cheered me up along with an excellent first time at beavers club (with me in tow and yep I had fun too!)

Thought I would surpise kids by buying a few solar lights. Tesco had quite a few half price online. Blue solar berries and rock lights etc. Put them up in a tree I have that bows over like a weeper up in the sky and put the rocks around the beds. Never told kids till I brought ds home from club. Well it went dark about 3 mins ago and boy does it look pretty! called ds into garden and his face was a picture. What I got was "MUMMY! we have a planetarium!" I got to say with the moon up and it being totally dark that is just what it looks like loads of blue stars and rock planets! Grin DS pulled up a sun chair and is still out there still as anything watching "his sky" as he said.

On the look out now for a BIG light for the moon when its cloudy lol! going out there now to lay with him for a bit. Thoroughly recommend doing this light business never had him so quiet! Grin

Grin Wonderful.

And very glad he enjoyed Beavers as well. I'm a huge fan of Scouts, it's been really great for all 3 of mine.

Ooh, sounds lovely. Glad Beavers was good too. My DS2 (ASD) has been through Beavers, Cubs and now in Scouts. Very inclusive, he's been on a Beaver sleepover and 2 cub camps. Without me! Though he did come home in the same socks and pants he started out with (eeuuww!)

Thanks! well night two and the planetarium is still a quiet time bonus! Grin
And DS has talked non stop about Beavers so I think its a winner! My DD NT is already in cubs and thoroughly enjoys it but it seemed so unfair to DS that he couldnt join in and hated it when he was watching her out the window as she was off. We been on waiting list for a very long time and he isnt actually of age yet. But they managed to squeeze him in for me when I explained circumstances and that I was willing to volounteer. so alls well that ends well. Grin The session is just about long enough before the sensorys kick in and he wants to hair around. Fortunately there is a park near by so I would be able to sneak him off for a wild charge around there if things get too much and sneak him back in. I am sure his social skills will get better in time and this is one of the places I can do it to help him along. At school I am not there and he struggles like mad. Anyways back off to the stars!
