hi all is there a website that offers info about the statementing process?

Hi am a TA who has worked as a 1-1 in playgroup, he has been v ill (still is so won't be back in the setting but I will be working with at home). He should start school in September straight into reception but his Mum a littte unsure about the statmenting process as am I as I have never seen this end of the stamenting but his Mum askes me about because she sees me every week as I am running the playgroup that her younger son attends. 2 More questions how long does it take?
And they talked about they need to take him to panel does that meen the panel that assess is he needs a statment?

They keep asking the questions and nobody comes up with the answers

The SEN Code of Practice here (look for SEN code of practice large print for the web on right hand side of page) is the current legal position. this is still in effect until the new govts green paper comes into effect in 3 years or do. Don't let the LA try to tell you that the green paper is already law!
