First statement review - advice?

DS has his first statement review next in 8 weeks time. I have 4 weeks to write 'parental advice' to submit.

He is in a specialist unit within a mainstream school and we are really happy with it, btw. What should we be saying / be wary of etc (the school staff are lovely, but having had such an horrific experience with his last school and with securing the statement from our LEA, i am always wary!).

ignore 'next' in first sentence!

I would say that you are happy with the adequate progress being made (if you are), but always qualify that with, he's making progress due to the support he's receiving. This is only the truth, but it needs to be included. Always be careful, and don't enthuse too much, just in case they decide progress is so good, support can be withdrawn. You can always thank the school for being great in a more informal way.
