Here in Glasgow schools are only in for 7 days in whole of April. This is first day off and im ready to crack up. How will i manage whole month. DS age 10 has severe autism, GDD, pica, low muscle tone and is non verbal. He's been up for hours, banging, jumping, emptying fridge, running up and down. Cant put him out on trampoline because its pouring rain and he doesnt like rain he'd just scream. Wish he'd watch dvd but no concentration, doesnt play with toys at all cant play with games consoles etc. How do i keep him occupied, school holidays are a nitemare for us. He usually ends up screaming for hours because out of routine. I wish he had an obssession with something so at least i could keep him amused but he just wants to run up and down banging walls etc and emptying my fridge where he keeps opening things but wont eat them. Will try and get away for few days, which he'll love. Have another 2 ds too so have to keep them all happy, lol. Heres to a happy April. Maybe i'll just have a Brew and let him wreck the place cos ive had enough already and its only start of school day, lol.

I am in Glasgow too - Have you ever been to Linn Park - the SN playground, I think there is an indoor section too - I have not been though I know a lot of parents who use it and really like it.

Hi - no real plans but we have scheduled in some extra ABA sessions to give his day some structure. Other than that will be just be usual stuff soft play, shops, playing in the the garden etc. He will watch dvds , do puzzles and listen to music so can do some indoor things in this awful weather we are having.
