Wow!!!

Common bloody sense.

Did you listen in Star?

Yes, the whole thing. Unfortunately I know that that type of thing will take decades to have any impact in the UK. My mum is heavily involved with the people who 'could' make such things possible and shifting their thinking is like trying to move a beached whale.

Still, there are other ways to instigate change, and this type of thing could attack from the client end.

Yes indeed.
I don't think it will take decades. This stuff is so cost effective.
Headsprout works in this way.
You can track thousands of kids simultaneously and progression is impossible without mastery.
Email me please.
I want to let you know about something but I have a new coomputer and have lost my address book.

Free stuff for primary kids - I thought it would be useful to have one thread with all this kind of thing in one place. Khan academy is pretty special.

Literacy help for younger children

www.storynory.com - lots of free audio stories for 3 - 10 years olds.
www.roythezebra.com - free literacy stuff for primary children

Complete primary maths curriculum
www.cimt.plymouth.ac.uk/projects/mepres/primary/default.htm

Special interests - a list of online encyclopedia links
www.thefizzbook.co.uk/advice/educational-software/
The major museums all have good sites too
