No idea what to do....

Son (ds) is 10. Has autism (high functioning) OCD and now, borderline Tourettes.

Has been on Sertraline (AD) which is the medication of choice with least side effects for kids with OCD.

Have no idea what to do....seems to be no real change and I HATE drugging him. He's a mess. Anxiety won't let him leave the house except (when he's up to it) to do a shortened school day.

I can't have any kind of (all be it little) conversation with him anymore because he's just a seething mass of squirming/apologising/ticks/flicks/fears. This is quite new. Up to Oct last year, he ONLY had ASD. I thought THAT was hard but this..... this is in a whole class of it's own.

Sometimes, I just want to put us BOTH out of our misery. What possible future for this young boy???

can you ask for his medication to be changed? who prescribed it? Is he with CAMHS?

Oh, and self harm issues....I have to watch him like a hawk. No friends.... Isolated....

Despair.

Anyone else?

Cornsilk....He is with CAMHS, has CBT with a counsellor and is being treated by a child psychiatrist.

School are excellent. He's a clever boy but his academic year (in terms of learning) ended in October.
