Hurry up dla

Dla have had my form 4 weeks now and I'm getting anxious! They've not informed me that they are writing to any professionals so I'm unsure if this is a good thing or a bad thing?! Professionals I listed would be able to back up my claim. I got the CDC to do the statement bit on form - guess I'll just have to wait it out and religiously check my account everyday!!Aaarggh it's such a stress. Do you also have to wait until your claim is through before puttin in a claim for carers allowance or can I do it now and the departments will talk to each other? Thanks and hope everyones well

i dont think you can claim for carers until your dla award as you have to be receiving middle/high rate care to get carers allowance

have you had the letter confirming they have the form? You can always ring the dla people and see what they're doing. You can get the forms for carers but as brandy said, I don't think you can claim unless you have your dla award letter.

Yes had the letter confirming 2nd week of feb I rang to check all ok and they said it wa quick turnaround time at the moment which got my hopes up! Silly man on phone! Nooo don't tell me 11 weeks don't they realise the stress this put parents under

chase them up again, if you do get it then its backdated to when you applied anyway so you wont lose any, look at it as a way of saving

Thanks all. I get dla for myself but first time I had to do Childs form so just hoping it's ok. I'll wait couple weeks then ring again
