I seem to spend my life ferrying dd around from one appointment to another but in fact when I actually add up what help she is getting it is really just 25mins per week of either physion or hydrotherapy, and that is it. The rest of the time it is just people sticking their oar in and talking about her CP and of course portage and playgroups which I don't count because so far that has all been total bullshit I am afraid.
It just doesn't seem very much to me. I feel really under pressure to do her exercises every day and feel like I never leave her alone, but then if I am not messing with her legs all the time then nobody else will. So much so that I have given up plans to go back to work because I thought if I am not with her all day to do her exercises etc then nothing will be doen to help her.
It just feels a bit like actually the docs expect me to do what I can and apart from that we'll all just keep our fingers crossed and see how she develops naturally. I suppose I was expecting the docs to be much more hands-on eg regular hands-on physio by them, not just me. Am I very naive?
(DD is 18mths old and her CP affects her legs and lower abdomen)
