That sounds like good timing eidsvoid. Its always easier to cope I think when we know what and when certain things are going to happen.

I've missed the thread that says what op dd1 has to have?I do hope its something small. (relatively speaking)

Hurray! I'm glad dd1 doesn't have to miss her beloved Wiggles.

I am speaking to hospital on Monday to change DD's op date so will ask about the issue of whether they have to keep away from other kids etc then. Its tonsils/adenoids btw.

eidsvold · 22/10/2005 23:51

my dd1 is having tonsils/adenoids and probably grommets as well.

just check that Davros - basically the registrar said they needed to be kept away from snotty children to decrease risk of infection I guess. It is probably children en masse rather than a few children I suppose - but will be intrigued to see what they say Davros-

Hi Eidsvold, I finally spoke to the girl who does the consultant's admissions today (she was off sick last week) and have booked DD in for 24th Nov. I forgot to ask her about what happens afterwards and any precautions! BUT I did see 2 parents I know today who have DDs who've had this, one with the same consultant we're using, and they both said they were told that their child could be unwell for up to 10 days. Both theirs were fine just after and then became quite unwell for quite a few days after that, sick a lot. One also said that you do have to be cautious as the site is quite open, ugh!
